Perfect fit
The Razor WS 4 tailor fit comes only in your size. So it will only fit the most important person – YOU !
Thickness of the Yamamoto Neopren
Yamamoto Neoprene
The Yamamoto Neopren is by far the best Neprene material on the market. Compared to other wetsuit it is way warmer and so is the Razor WS 4.
< 50°F/10°C
These is definitely the temperature range, where a drysuit is the better choice.
50–62°F / 10-17°C
We recommend at minimum 7mm wetsuit, but most likely a drysuit would be more comfortable
62-69°F / 17-21°C
In this range a 7mm or 5mm is appropriate for achieving maximum comfort.
70-75°F / 21-24°C
In this range a 5mm wetsuit is appropriate for achieving maximum comfort.
75-80°F / 24-27°C
In this range a 3mm wetsuit is appropriate for normal dives. If you are looking a really long dives then a 5mm still might be the better option.
> 80°F / 27°C
At these temperatures a 3mm wetsuit with a seperate hood might be the best choice. Some prefer not to use a wetsuit at all, but keep in mind that wetsuits are great protection against jelly fish stings.
Material of the WS 4
Open Cell or Closed Cell
Depend on your needs you can choose if you rather like the Open Cell or the Closed Cell version of the Yamamoto Neoprene.
Open Cell
The Open Cell material has the Yamamoto neoprene straight on the skin of the diver.
- Super comfortable to wear
- Extrem warm since the material lays close to the skin
- Nearly no water movement through the suit while diving
- Durable but not as a closed cell suit
- Needs to be a little wet inside to put it on easily
- No recommended for divers tending to have skin allergies
Closed Cell
The Closed Cell material has an additional Nylon layer on the inside of the suit (same as on the outside).
- Can be put on when totally dry
- Slightly more durable than the Open Cell variant
- More water movement through the suit means slightly less warm than the Open Cell variant
- Higher Price
- Not the same snug feeling as an Open Cell suit
VERSATILITY
Depending on your diving and dive conditions you can define the RAZOR WS 4 to your needs.
WS 4 Hood
Separate or attached to the suit
You have the free choice if you would like to have the hood attached to the top of the wetsuit or seperate from the suit
Hood Seperate
A seperate hood might work best if you are diving mostly in the tropics and you want to use a hood just for long dives or not at all.
Attached
We highly recommend the get the Razor WS 4 with an attached hood. There is less to none water entering from the neck which keeps the core of the body nice and warm. In addition if you like to make a dive without the hood just flip it back and you`ll be fine.
